
Olivia Trees is currently an Assistant Professor and Resident Costume Designer at Marshall University's School of Theatre & Dance. She holds an MFA in Costume Design from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and a BA in Theatre from Florida State University. She has worked for The Utah Shakespeare Festival, The Juilliard School, Euroco Costumes, and the Weston Playhouse. Her designs have been seen with companies such as: Triad Stage, The Clarence Brown Theatre, Illinois Wesleyan University, Titan Theatre Company, Hope Summer Repertory Theatre, and Marshall University.
At the 2015 and 2016 SETC Design Competitions, Olivia placed first in the Graduate Costume Design category for her designs of A Shayna Maidel and A Lesson Before Dying, both produced at the Clarence Brown Theatre. In 2016, she also placed 3rd in Costume Crafts for her Millinery work and received the Ready To Work Award from Triad Stage in Greensboro, North Carolina. With that, she had the chance to design Arthur Miller's The Price for their 2016-2017 season.
